Gigabyte unveils C246-WU4 motherboard

Designed for workstations

Gigabyte has revealed the detailed specifications of its C246-WU4 motherboard. This model is compatible with Xeon E-2100 series and 8th/9th generation Core processors, thus addressing the workstation market segment.


The C246-WU4 is based on an ATX form factor. There are four full-sized PCIe slots but only two of them come with steel reinforcements. There is a legacy PCI slot driven by the a bridge chip. In the case of storage you'll find ten angled SATA ports and two M.2 slots with gen 3.0 x4 wiring. Network connectivity wise, we see two GbE interfaces, one based on the Intel i219-V and the other on an Intel i211-AT.

Looking for additional features we find a debug display, several onboard buttons and support for USB 3.1 ports. So far Gigabyte has not revealed any details on pricing and availability regarding this model.
